Fighting eye-to-eye in the first set and winning the second to get into a tiebreaker game, Aparri School of Arts and Trades showed a promising win, however, the regu fell off in the final moments when Lallo National High School closed a 3-point gap and snatched the win out of their grasp.
While both teams made mistakes themselves, ASAT was on the lower hand at receives, mostly not being able to catch the ball from LNHS spikes.
It was obvious from the first set, with LNHS getting more out-of-bounds giving ASAT points, however, ASAT failed to protect those points when it comes to actual play, losing rallies left and right and failing serves.
Moreover, when ASAT managed to get a win in the second set, the points mostly came from the LNHS substitute feeder and tekkong not being a fit for each other.
Giving 2-points to netting and 2-outside points for ASAT, the LNHS handed them the win.
The tiebreaker set was truly devastating for ASAT’s regu, even though they were on a roll on the start getting 5-0, LNHS substituted an athlete both good at offense and defense, blocking ASAT who’s already lacking in offense, and releasing headers landing the ball.
Despite their best efforts and a series of planned tactical maneuvers throughout the competition, they ultimately faced a disappointing defeat. The losing point occurred when ASAT didn’t block LNHS’s header during a critical moment of the match, allowing the opponent to capture a point further in, ensuring their victory.
ASAT needs to focus more on tactics, even though they have the necessary skill, the plays they made are predictable and they relied too much on lucky guesses, failing the game.
