LAL-LO, Cagayan – Hon. Vice Mayor Maria Olivia B. Pascual illuminated Lal-lo’s exceptional preparedness for calamities and natural disasters at a press conference held on December 13, 2024, at the Lal-lo National High School Gymnasium.
The municipality’s proactive approach is evident in its 24/7 response team and the distribution of emergency contact numbers to all households, including schools.
“Lahat ng problema, even away magasawa, like natural phenomena,” Pascual stated. “Kailangan lang idial and quick response.”
The municipality’s commitment to immediate relief is unwavering, with prompt delivery of relief goods during and after calamities.
Rescue operations are meticulously conducted before, during, and after disasters to guarantee residents’ safety.
Lal-lo’s acquisition of motorboats worth 12.8 million pesos, generously donated by the United States, further underscores not only its preparedness but to fascinate tourists.
These boats, including a water ambulance, serve dual purposes of tourism and emergency response.
In addition, Lal-lo has established sixteen state-of-the-art evacuation centers, each equipped with kitchens, couples’ rooms, functional and clean restrooms, televisions, and reliable electricity supply.
“During disasters, we give food packs and raw materials. We do not spoon feed them; we want them to cook,” Pascual explained.
